From Hwy 17, SR 179 meanders up through the Village of Oak Creek to meet 89A at what locals call the "Y".

It's design gives users a view of the Red Rocks and the area in as natural a setting as possible.

Yes there are problems.  Many people do not understand how to use a roundabout.  Yield means to proceed with caution and enter the flow of traffic when it is safe, with the car in the roundabout having the right of way.  There are two lanes marked with directional arrows, but it is imperative that a car use their signals to let others know what they indend to do.

The traffic flows well unless someone comes to a complete stop wondering what to do next.  Defensive driving never hurt anyone...
